Resetting TPS-1 to Original Status

Last Updated:06/01/2017

Question:

How do I go back to the "Get Started" status found on page 14, figure 2-4 of the "Get Started" document, but without CN30?

Answer:

Before you can go back to the starting point of configuring the TPS-1, you must erase the serial flash.
Due to two different board configurations, V1.1 does not have CN30 (TPS-1 Boot Mode Jumper) and V1.2 has CN30 (TPS-1 Boot Mode Jumper).  Because of this, you can erase the serial flash in two ways:

- Board V1.1:  Please connect the serial flash pin 7 to GND and press the reset button. Then you will see the screenshot shown in the "Getting Started" document (page14, figure 2-4). Now, please disconnect pin 7 from GND and download and run the software "TPS_Erase_Flash.s". After erasing the serial flash by using this firmware, please proceed as normal from the starting point.
- Board V1.2:  Please open the jumper CN30 and press the reset button on the TPS-1 Starter Kit. Now you will see the screenshot shown in the document "Getting Started" (page14, figure 2-4). Now, please disconnect pin 7 from GND and download and run the software "TPS_Erase_Flash.s". After erasing the serial flash by using this firmware, please proceed as normal from the starting point.

You will find the file "TPS_Erase_Flash.s" in the directory "KW-Software\TPS-1 Tools 13042012\TPS Starter" of the TPS-1 Starter Kit CD.
