Latest Updated:07/17/2008

Question:

I am using the external flash memory write function on the H8S (H8SX).
After I start the E10A-USB, set the items in the [External Flash memory setting] dialog box and select OK, I get the following message and nothing happens.
       Error message: Invalid value

Answer:

Please confirm the following items, as indicated by each highlighted error item.

  1. When File Name (F) is highlighted:
    • A non-existent file has been selected. Go back and select the correct file.

  2. When Top Address (P) is highlighted:
    • The maximum area that can be set for the top and end addresses is 4M bytes. Make sure the area between the top and end addresses doesn't exceed the 4M-byte maximum.
Example: When H'0 is set as the Top Address (P), the maximum value that can be set as the End address (N) is H'3FFFFF.

  3. When End address (N) is highlighted:
    • Make sure the address input at the bottom of the Top address of block (D) is not larger than the value input as End address (N).

  4. When Top address of block (D) is highlighted:
    • Make sure the number of addresses input for Top address of block (D) is higher than the number of addresses input for Block count(c).
    • An error will occur if the address input for Top address of block (D) is not in ascending sequence. Always make sure the addresses are in ascending order.
