Can I use four phase counting modes of the TPU simultaneously?
Question:
Answer:
Yes. You can use four phase counting modes simultaneously using four channels of TPU. However, you cannot use four phase counting modes simultaneously when the external bus is enabled (EXPE = 1) in external extension mode or single chip mode. When using four phase counting modes simultaneously, use eight external clock input pins (TCLKA to TCLKH).
TCLKA input external clock A input pin (Channel 1 or 5 phase counting mode A phase input)
TCLKB input external clock B input pin (Channel 1 or 5 phase counting mode B phase input)
TCLKC input external clock C input pin (Channel 2 or 4 phase counting mode A phase input)
TCLKD input external clock D input pin (Channel 2 or 4 phase counting mode B phase input)
TCLKE input external clock E input pin (Channel 7 or 11 phase counting mode A phase input) *
TCLKF input external clock F input pin (Channel 7 or 11 phase counting mode B phase input) *
TCLKG input external clock G input pin (Channel 8 or 10 phase counting mode A phase input) *
TCLKH input external clock H input pin (Channel 8 or 10 phase counting mode B phase input) *
*Port J (TCLKE to TCKJKH) can be used when the external bus is disabled (EXPE = 0) in single chip mode and the PCJKE bit is set to 1. When the external bus is enabled (EXPE = 1) in external extension mode and single chip mode, port J (TCLKE to TCKJKH) cannot be used because it will be an address bus.
